Jesus’ definition of true leadership is the life of a servant: “Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else” (Mark 10:43b-44, NLT). In all the years of Columbia Christian College few couples have served students and churches in as far-reaching a way as Don and Mary Lou Boderman and Dick and Sue Dalzell.
In honor of the Bodermans and Dalzells, Cascade has started a special fund for our Fine Arts Programs, including Choir, Drama, and the Second Story traveling drama group which is succeeding the well-known Visions group that toured for years. Cascade offers music as a minor as well as an area of study in our Interdisciplinary Studies program. Many Cascade students are currently engaged in the College’s Fine Arts programs. As students take part in these important programs, they are being transformed for Christian faith, scholarship, and service.
Many people would say that Columbia wouldn't have been Columbia without the Bodermans and the Dalzells. Mentoring students, inviting them into their homes and just genuinely caring about them...that is simply what they did. Don, Mary Lou, Dick and Sue have all made an eternal impact on countless alumni and friends of this campus.
If you wish to bless these students and also honor the Bodermans and Dalzells, you can make a gift to the 2008 Fine Arts Fund at Cascade College by clicking here. Your gift is tax-deductible, and the Bodermans and Dalzells will be sent a letter notifying them that you have honored them whenever you make a gift to this special fund.
